I am not like him
I am just like me
I am not like them
That I cannot be

Your friends are just like you
Your friends are not like me
Your culture's what you do
But culture can't be free

Your friends are just like you
But what if they were me?
Your culture would be through
But your culture wants to be

Your culture pushes down
Your culture uses you
It doesn't want me 'round
It fears becoming new

Notes

The idea came to me that conformity is culture pushing down in order to survive. This requires culture to have the same fear as we do, that if we change too much we will be someone different, and the person we are will die.
